It happened a few days ago. I was walking along a deserted path, the fog so thick I could barely see my own nose. I was unable to tell what time of day it was, as the sun was blocked with this blanket of mist. Luckily, even though I couldn’t see my nose, it had been able to see, or rather, smell its way along the soil. The aroma of the cold, dead ground began causing my nasal passages to go numb, along with my inner ears, caused by the perspiration of fog building within them. The fog had almost caused my ears to begin frosting over; when I suddenly heard a rustle deeper within the bleak, pale forest
